Enoch lived outside of the cities in a country place. There was a separation
that occurred, between the followers of the true God and the disobedient.
While we do not know the exact location where Enoch lived, we do know
that he didn't live in the city, as Lot did in Sodom. Lot probably thought
that his influence in Sodom would help save the people who lived there.
However, Lot ended up losing most of his family, his home, his wealth,
and he became the father to some of Israel's greatest enemies.
Enoch was not a Hermit
Enoch was not a hermit either, from time to time Enoch would leave his
country home to warn the world of the results of disobedience to God.
Every trip to evangelize the people in the cities was painful to him because
his heart of sympathy and love could discern the deceptive trap which
the people were bound in.

What about our Day?
Bible Prophecy Indicates a Great Time of Trouble
especially for City Dwellers
There is going to be a GREAT battle over worship, and all in the "name"
of Christianity. But those that use force to compel men's consciences
will not be serving the Lord, even though they may have convinced themselves
of that.
Here is some food for serious contemplation:
In 321 A.D. a law was issued that primarily affected those living in the
cities.
"ALL JUDGES AND CITY PEOPLE AND THE CRAFTSMEN
SHALL REST UPON THE VENERABLE DAY OF THE SUN. COUNTRY PEOPLE, HOWEVER,
MAY FREELY ATTEND TO THE CULTIVATION OF THE FIELDS, BECAUSE IT FREQUENTLY
HAPPENS THAT NO OTHER DAYS ARE BETTER ADAPTED FOR PLANTING THE GRAIN IN
THE FURROWS OR THE VINES IN TRENCHES. SO THAT THE ADVANTAGE GIVEN BY HEAVENLY
PROVIDENCE MAY NOT FOR THE OCCASION OF A SHORT TIME PERISH." --THE
LAW ISSUED BY THE EMPEROR CONSTANTINE ON THE SEVENTH OF MARCH, A.D. 321,
REGARDING A DAY OF REST FROM LABOR

How to Reduce Poverty
In God's plan for Israel every family
had a home on the land, with sufficient ground for tilling. Thus were provided
both the means and the incentive for a useful, industrious, and self-supporting
life. And no devising of men has ever improved upon that plan... The Cause of Poverty in America and the World
